“Novotrans plans to build and develop an industrial and power complex in the Prokopyevsky City District of the Kemerovo Region. It includes an open-pit coal mine, a combined heat and power plant with a capacity of more than 100 megawatts, and a smelter for production of all-rolled wheels for cargo railcars with the projected capacity of 400,000 units per year,” the company said.
The company also said quoting its CEO Konstantin Goncharov that it would need from four to six years to implement the project.
According to Kemerovo Region’s Governor Sergei Tsivilev, the project would also improve the city’s environment, as the power plant would allow the city to close 16 boiler houses out of 70.
